BlackLine, a pioneer in digital finance transformation, has welcomed Sumit Johar as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), starting February 12th, 2024.

Johar, with a rich background in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and intelligent automation, will take charge of Information Technology and Information Security worldwide, reporting to Co-CEO Therese Tucker.

Therese Tucker praised Johar's extensive experience in SaaS, automation, and AI, viewing it as crucial for BlackLine's innovation and global competitiveness.

Johar's career spans over two decades, with roles at Automation Anywhere as CIO, where he drove AI-powered automation solutions, and at MobileIron, significantly cutting costs to enable digital initiatives.

His experience also includes a decade at TIBCO Software leading Enterprise Applications, with earlier positions at Wipro and Infosys.

Johar expressed excitement about his role, highlighting the transformative potential of generative AI and emerging tech for business operations.

"I'm eager to upgrade BlackLine's IT, intelligence, and applications with the latest AI and automation to boost our workforce and maintain our leadership in digital finance," he said.

With a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Johar's expertise is set to propel BlackLine forward in its mission to revolutionize accounting and finance through technology.
