Samsung has unveiled the Vision AI Companion, a major upgrade to the TV experience that integrates conversational artificial intelligence into the core of the living room.

According to Samsung’s announcement, the feature transforms the television from a passive entertainment screen into a central interactive hub for households.

With the press of a dedicated AI button on the remote, users can engage in natural two-way dialogue with their TV.

They can ask questions about movies, sports, art, travel or everyday concerns and receive not just spoken replies but rich, visualised content right on the screen.

Samsung emphasises that the platform supports live understanding of context and follow-up questions, making interactions feel fluid and human-centred.

Built For The Household, Not Just The Individual

Unlike most AI assistants designed for private use on phones or speakers, Vision AI Companion is purpose-built for shared viewing spaces.

Samsung describes it as “designed to bring everyone closer together,” enabling movie-night questions, group travel planning or branching off into fun games for the whole family.

The system uses an upgraded version of Samsung’s Bixby engine enhanced by multiple large-language models and AI agents.

For example, the live translation feature can render on-screen dialogue into another language in real-time. Other features include AI Gaming Mode, Generative Wallpaper, AI Picture and Audio Upscaling.

Global Reach And Platform Strategy

Samsung says Vision AI Companion will ship across its 2025 TV lineup, including Neo QLED, OLED and MicroLED models, as well as Smart Monitors and the MovingStyle line.

The software runs on the One UI Tizen platform and includes seven years of OS upgrades for security and feature enhancements.

Importantly, the feature supports 10 languages at launch, including English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Portuguese and Korean. This makes it one of the broadest language roll-outs for conversational AI in the TV category.
