testFRWD, an Austrian startup providing AI-powered solutions for self-certifying COVID-19 tests, has partnered with travel software giant Amadeus. As a result of the partnership, Amadeus will be offering identiMe, testFRWD’s digital certification verification platform for at-home COVID-19 tesk kits, through its channels.

Amadeus and testFRWD will bring testFRWD’s identyME self-testing certification system to millions of travelers booking their planes, train, and ferry tickets at companies using Amadeus’s solutions. The test kits, as well as all the necessary links and information, will be provided at the points of sale, providing for a seamless user experience.

This comes as governments around the world ease COVID restrictions. Just last week, the EU recommended member states ease travel restrictions after countries such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have already announced plans to do so.

The partnership

This means effective testing is the last line of defense against the spread of the virus. Effective testing will remain especially crucial for at-risk groups, considering the easing of restrictions up until now has led to a spike in transmission.

testFRWD helps travel companies and authorities to streamline the health controls and works as a remedy for the problem of counterfeit kits and certificates. Specifically in this case, Amadeus will give travelers an option to purchase a compatible test kit when they are booking their tickets

Commenting about the new milestone Andrea Marazzi, COO of testFRWD said:

“We are proud to be joining forces with the travel tech giant to give consumers a chance to travel with minimal friction or extra expenses. With identyME, they can do their tests anywhere, in any moment, and let our system handle the rest.”

identyME is compatible with antigen test kits that have been certified for EU’s official Green Pass and the UK’s FLY2FLY travel testing systems. And, identyME is available in 26 EU member states. Besides, it is now also entering the U.S. market with the official launch in Maryland.

What is testFRWD?

identyME by testFRWD is a fully digital, scalable, and simple home certification and result verification system for rapid testing platforms like Antigen. It was founded at the apex of the pandemic in Australia as an AI solution to COVID-19 testing and certification. It’s app that relies on a multi-component security architecture relying on QR codes, digital fingerprinting, and facial recognition to prevent fraud and the use of counterfeit test kits. Of note, it’s been approved for the capabilities in the EU and the UK.
