South Korea tech giant, Samsung has officially launched its new Galaxy Watch Active 2 with ECG sensor and digital bezel AMOLED display. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 pricing starts from $279 in the US. The new touch-type rotating bezel control gives new look and comes with more new sensors for better accuracy.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes in two sizes – 40mm and 44mm. It will be available in two different styles which include casual edition that has an aluminum chassis and FKM wrist strap and premium edition comes with a stainless steel body with a leather wrist band. The smartwatch is powered by Exynos 9110 processor coupled with 768MB of RAM. It runs the latest Wizen OS with One UI. The LTE supported version will have 1.5GB of RAM and available only in premium edition stainless steel.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch Active 2 is an IP68 rated 6ATM water-resistant, iMIL-STD 810G rated and the display is protected with Gorilla Glass DX+. The military-grade rating will offer dustproof protection to the device on any climatic conditions.

The company claims, the watch can track 39 different types of activities which includes the key feature of electrocardiogram (ECG). The Galaxy Active Watch 2 features an improved optical heart rate trackers wit 8 LEDs which can track stress levels as well. The watch comes with the default Samsung Health, Smart Things, Samsung Pay, Bixby virtual assistant. In addition, the watch supports Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Youtube streaming and offline Spotify playlists.

Talking about the availability and price, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be available for pre-orders from September 6 and it will ship from Sept. 26. The 40mm aluminum variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is priced at $279 and the Watch Active 44MM variant is priced at $299. Samsung is offering free Wireless Charger Portable Battery for the customers who pre-order the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Pre-orders will be available on all leading web stores includes T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular and Verizon from 7th September.
