Atlanta-based fintech Artis Technologies finished its first round of seed investment today with $1.5m funding from Fintech Ventures Fund and its affiliates. This round takes Artis’ total funding to $3m, with its previous funding from angel investors, debt, and equity financing.
Fintech Ventures Fund is an active venture capitalist in Atlanta and New York City, and is a frequent investor in promising startups in the financial and insurtech sector.
Lucas Timberlake, partner at Fintech Ventures Fund, said, “Artis is taking a unique approach towards reducing the pain points that various stakeholders experience during the point-of-need financing lifecycle. We are excited to support Artis’ seasoned management team in this next phase of the company’s growth.”
Artis has come to fintech markets with its first product in March this year, Artis Connect, which allows businesses to offer downstream credit to their customers in order to procure high-yielding loans. Artis has also tried to form a network of banks and other financial institutions that can issue credit to customers with ease. This network is called Artis Connect.
Barclay Keith, CEO of Artis, commented, “Launching during the pandemic proved to be a challenge, but also allowed for time to focus on our technology and broader product strategy – proving to our team, current and prospective investors, and clients exactly what we’re capable of. Our focus for the remainder of 2020 will be additional fundraising, implementing our initial financial institution partners, and continuing to build a great team and culture.”
