Earlier this year, Samsung announced its Odyssey series of e-sports displays at CES. Although the Odyssey G7 and Odyssey G9 monitors have haven entered the United States, only the G7 is available in South Korea. Now, the company has finally launched the G Odyssey globally.
The price of Samsung Odyssey G9 is not yet announced. It is the world’s first monitor to support dual QHD resolution and a curvature of 1000R. The new e-sports display is the world’s first display to support HDR10 plus, thanks to its QLED panel with display HDR 1000 certification.
This high-end gaming monitor won CES 2020 Innovation Award in the category of computer of the computer and peripheral accessories for its unique curved design. Odyssey G9 uses a 49-inch curved QLED panel with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 and an aspect ratio of 32:9.
In addition, it has a refresh rate of 240Hz, a response time of 1ms, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The monitor and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Pro. The display can also be rotated and tilted o ed o to user requirements.
In terms of ports, Odyssey G9 has two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, three USB 3.0 ports and a headphone jack. In add, the display and the sy provides functions such as black equalizer and virtual aiming point.
Odyssey G9 is mainly white, but with Infinity Core light area on the back. This area supports 52 colors and 5 lightening effects.
