Facebook officially launches standalone Messenger desktop app

After announcing at the F8 2019 developer conference last year that it would create a desktop version of Messenger’s stand-alone app, Facebook earlier announced the launch of a version of the Windows PC and Mac device, making it easier for users to chat with online friends through the Desktop Messenger standalone app.

Compared to mobile Messenger, the table version is a late split independent, and unlike the action, the version will force the jump off Facebook to use the interface, users can still choose to interact with friends through Facebook’s original interface, but do not seem to actively jump out of unread notifications.

In addition, the table version of Messenger can also correspond to dark mode, users can also self-determined online status, whether to turn on do not disturb, preview messages, and play a new message sound, but also choose the appearance of color theme, as well as the color of the skin when pressed.

According to Facebook’ published data, Messenger now has a mass users of more than 1.3 billion people, so splitting The Action Messenger from its original Facebook app and becoming a stand-alone app project long ago would not only balance the Facebook app’s traffic burden but also give Messenger more flexibility to grow.

And this time to split the table version of Messenger from the Facebook page, into a stand-alone app, in a way should also be in response to traffic allocation, and let the table version of Messenger can have more application development.
