As reported, the Samsung is developing a 1.5-megapixel camera the size of a one-inch sensor and using the same technology as Samsung’s Ultra Ultra Bright HM1 sensor, which will be sold to Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo.
Xiaomi plans to use Samsung’s 150-megapixel camera in the fourth quarter of 2020, while OPPO and Vivo plan to use the sensor on the Snapdragon 875 processor in the first quarter of next year, the sources said.
These are not ordinary camera sensors, they are Nonacell sensors that combine 9-pixels into 1-pixels to achieve higher light absorption, resulting in an equivalent image of 16 megapixels.
