If you are a regular Instagram user then you might already know that the app has recently started showing unfollow suggestions with ‘Least Interacted With’ and ‘Most Shown in Feed’ categories. With these automated options you will be able to remove people from your list with whom you rarely interact.
Now, the company has started rolling yet another similar feature named Follower. It cleans up your follower list. In this option, there are two categories, namely, ‘Accounts You Don’t Follow Back’ and ‘Least Interacted With’.
As the name suggests, the first category, ‘Accounts You Don’t Follow Back’ shows you the list of accounts that follows you but you don’t follow back. If you are willing to cut off strangers from your profile then this might be an extremely useful feature. You can easily cut peoples out of your list with whom you don’t want to share your social media life.
The second category, ‘Least Interacted With’ category simply suggests accounts with whom you rarely interact. With this new feature, you will be able to remove those unwanted ghost followers from your profile. Instagram disclosed that this feature follows a 90 day mapping period which means it will suggest those accounts in your list with whom you have rarely interacted in the last 90 days.
All you have to do to use these Follower categories is simply open your Instagram app and head to your Profile and tap on Followers.
The Follower feature is gradually rolling out to both Android and iOS users through a server-side update. As of now, if your phone is missing the feature, you will eventually get it within the coming weeks.
