At an event in China, Oppo has not only launched its Oppo Find X2 flagship series but it has also taken the wraps off its first-ever smartwatch, the Oppo Watch. Though the Oppo Watch holds a couple of similarities with that of Apple Watch, in reality, it is limited to design only. The two devices come with different sets of key features along with different functional abilities. The  Oppo Watch brings comes with a curved display along with other cool features such as VOOC charging, and ColorOS support. The Oppo smartwatch is also water-resistant up to 50 meters.

Let us first tell you that in what sense the Oppo Watch resembles the Apple Watch. The comparison comes due to its similar look. Both the devices come with a rectangular design, aluminum build, and bezel-less display. However, the Oppo gadget comes with a two-button layout on the right edge than that of the crown in the Apple device.

The Oppo Watch sports a 1.91 inches curved AMOLED display with a pixel density of 326 PPI and color gamut support of 100 %. The 41 mm variant comes with a flat 1.6 inches display while the bigger variant comes with a 3D curved display and is almost bezel-less.

Oppo Watch is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset along with an Apollo 3 coprocessor. There is also an eSIM support onboard which conveys that users will be able to take calls independently with this device.

The gadget runs on the company’s own ColorOS Watch skin which is based on Android. This custom Watch OS comes with a music player, a radio, payment apps (with NFC support), and a ton of other pre-installed apps. It seems that Oppo has done quality research in studying what its competitors like Xiaomi and Apple are doing before starting off the Watch business.

Apart from this, there are some sophisticated sensors in the watch as well such as a 4 channel heart rate sensor that monitors heart rate real-time for 24 hours.

Oppo has integrated the VOOC charging technology to its Oppo Watch which is capable of filling 50% battery within just 17 minutes. However, in order to charge the watch fully, you have to charge it for around 75 minutes.

Oppo Watch has been tagged with a price tag of 1499 yuan (INR 15,900) for the 41mm variant. It will come in as many as three color variants namely Black, Gold, and Silver. On the other hand, the 46 mm variant has been tagged with a price tag of 1999 yuan (INR 21,250) and it will come in two color variants namely Black and Gold. Last, but not the least, the most high-end variant, the Oppo Watch Premium Edition has been tagged with a price tag of 2499 yuan (INR 26500). All are available for pre-order in China now and the sale is expected to kick off from 24th March 2020.
