Mukesh Ambani declares that Reliance Jio has no Chinese components

While talking with US President Donald Trump in New Delhi, Mukesh Ambani told the US president that Reliance Jio is the only company in the world that never used “a single Chinese component”.

All of us know the trade wars between the US and China and how aggressive Trump’s policies were. The US president tried his bit to literally banish Chinese tech giant Huawei from the smartphone world.

A few months back, the US has not only imposed sanctions against Huawei banning all US companies from doing any kind of business with Huawei but has also urged other countries to follow footsteps. In this sense, we are not surprised that the Chairman of Reliance industries tried to impress the president in his meeting.

In his response, US President Donald Trump questioned Mukesh Ambani whether Jio would launch 5G networks or not. Eventually, Trump congratulated Ambani by saying “Well, that’s good. Good. Put a bid in” and then also invited him for a 5G auctions in the US.

In the conversation, Ambani revealed that Jio has South Korean company Samsung as its networking partner for both 4G and 5G networks.

Back in October 2019, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross had revealed his worries about if its allies used Huawei’s 5G telecommunication equipment, they could expose themselves to security risks.

The events are getting more and more interesting because Trump administration wants is persuading India to keep China’s Huawei out of India’s 5G deployments but so far the Indian government has allowed Huawei and ZTE to participate in its 5G trials.

It remains to be seen what decision the government takes next because allowing Huawei to participate in the commercial deployments of 5G will be another decision.

So far, not only in the US, but in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Taiwan, Huawei and ZTE are banned from participating in 5G networks. Only, the UK has allowed both companies but restricted its reach by confining it to sell non-core items only.
