It has been reported that finally, LG has pulled the curtains off its 6th V series smartphone, LG V60 ThinQ 5G. As the name suggests, it is a 5G handset. The handset is powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset, Snapdragon 865 along with Qualcomm’s X55 modem. This modem supports both 5G, mmWave (higher bandwidth) and sub 6 GHz (better coverage). In this device, LG has integrated a new dual-camera setup with a 64 MP main sensor. The device will be backed up by a 5000mAh battery.
As far as the display is concerned, LG V60 ThinQ comes with a large 6.8 inch FHD+ OLED display panel with an aspect ratio of 20.5: 9. The waterdrop from the LG V50S has been carried over with this model but this time, it holds a 10 MP selfie camera. The display houses a built-in fingerprint scanner and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
In the rear, there is a ToF sensor and a pair of cameras: a 1 / 1.7 inches 64 MP main shooter with OIS and a 13 MP ultra-wide snapper with a field of view of 117 degrees. The device has the potential to shoot 8K video recording and it supports HDR10+ in manual mode.
In terms of hardware, the Snapdragon 865 chipset has been paired with 8 GB of RAM and internal storage of 128 GB which can be further expanded with a microSD card.
Like any other device of this range, LG V60 ThinQ is IP68 dust and water-resistant and MIL-STD 810G compliant. LG V60 ThinQ runs on Android 10 with LG UX 9.0 on top and sports a dedicated Google Assistant key on the left. Apart from this, there is a 32 bit Quad DAC, stereo speakers and a 4 microphone setup. The battery we discussed earlier supports Quick Charge 4+ and wireless charging. Connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 6 support.
Interestingly, this time, LG updated its dual-screen accessory with a 360 Freestop Hinge which can be used in laptop, stand and tent modes. The company has also added a 2.1 inches notification panel. The second screen can now be connected with a USB Type C port.
We have not heard anything yet regarding price and availability of the handset but we have heard that the device will be available in blue and white colours and it will come in this spring.
