Ola launches its operations in London with more than 25000 drivers

The Indian Cab hailing company, Ola, finally started its operation in London, United Kingdom, after four months of announcing their plans actually to start the operation. In the official press release, Ola said that it will offer cabs in three categories: Exec, Comfort XL and Comfort. There are also 25000 registered drivers in Ola since they started the process in November 2019.

Ola said that it has a tie-up with Pearson, Mercer, and DriveTech to give their customers the best experience. The company does not want to risk their customer safety, and thus, they are asking all of their drivers to complete a risk assessment test before starting the job to improve their driving skills and knowledge. The company said that “Besides, every Ola driver in London has passed the Versant spoken English test, from education experts Pearson plc, ensuring a high level of communication in English.”

Another safety measure taken by Ola is called the Guardian, which is an Artificial Intelligence-based tracking system. It uses real-time data from the rides to track irregular trip details, which includes prolonged stops and unexpected route deviation. This was first introduced in the Indian cities Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune in September 2018 and expanded to several other Indian cities and Australia.

Ola is offering all the features in London, which it offers in India. The drivers will be getting 24/7 online voice support from Ola, and the riders and drivers will get the four-digit pin before they start the ride. The company is offering a celebration for its launch in London by providing vouchers up to 25 pounds for signing up in the first week.

Ola had already started its operations in the UK before one year and has been operating in South Wales and then expanded to prominent cities like Liverpool, Birmingham, and Bristol. Ola claims to have provided 3 million rides with around 11,000 drivers in these cities.
