With the emerging climate crisis and catastrophe due to increasing global temperatures, it is necessary that we take the needful steps towards saving our planet. Many countries are trying to go environment-friendly and reduce carbon emission by taking up different measures like promoting the use of electric vehicles/ using renewable energy sources, afforestation and reducing plastics. In short, it is necessary that we act on the issue now or else the earth will die soon along with all living species in it.
Among the prominent nations that have started acting on the issue, European countries are in the front line. The countries include Belgium, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Portugal. These countries are trying to eradicate carbon emission from fossil fuels like petrol and diesel since it is the major cause of pollution. The Netherlands which is another European country has now announced that it will be providing subsidy to its drivers who buy electric vehicles inside the country.
It was announced that the drivers will be getting a subsidy of 4000 Euros which can cover the cost of the car. Those citizens who are going to buy the car after the 1st of July 2020 will be eligible for the grand. For those buying the second-hand vehicles, the subsidy will be 2000 Euros. This way the people will be encouraged to move to eco-friendly vehicles from gas vehicles.
This subsidy is applicable to the cars which cost up to 45,000 Euros which means that the government is targeting the lower end buyers in the market so that the drivers will switch to environment-friendly alternatives from gasoline vehicles. The government is also taking measures to block fraudulent claims. The buyers will have to make the purchase from dealers who are authorized by the government. The grand will not be given if they buy the car from classified ads or dealers.
The Netherlands government plans to phase out all gasoline vehicles and replace them with electric vehicles and by then the subsidy scheme also will be withdrawn. Reports say that the Dutch government is also planning to provide financial assistance and software and hardware services to those buying electric vehicles.
Therefore, the dutch or Netherlands natives can get a new car at a very low price and at the same time save our mother earth.
