Samsung Galaxy A51 5G will be powered by Exynos 980 chipset

Back in December 2019, Samsung launched the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 smartphones in Vietnam and now according to a recent report, the South Korean tech giant company will launch a 5G version of Galaxy A51 in the domestic market. The same report revealed its model number as SM-A516N.

It seems that right now, Samsung is keeping its focus on the A-series lineup. Recently, it launched Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 almost back to back. Eventually, Galaxy A51 was also launched in India at a starting price of INR 23999. Samsung claims that Galaxy A51 is among the first phones in the series to sport an Infinity-O display and a macro camera.

However, it should be noted that apart from a handful of features, as far as the hardware is concerned, the A51 resembles its predecessor.  Moreover, as far as price competition is concerned, it has a few competitors like Redmi K20 and its Pro variant.

As we mentioned earlier, the body of Samsung Galaxy A51 is more or less similar to that of Galaxy A50s. It is an all polycarbonate body and weighs just 172g. Galaxy A51 is packed with a Super AMOLED display panel with Full-HD+ resolution support.

After this, it was leaked recently on the Geekbench website that the new 5G phone will be equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos 980 chipset. The Exynos 980 SoC is a mid-range 5G capable processor.  Back in December, Vivo launched Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro 5G smartphones with these processors.

The new handset will run on the Android 10 operating system and it will be powered by a 6 GB of RAM. The Geekbench scores of the handset in the single-core test are 679 points. In the multi-core test, the handset scored 1848 points. According to the experts, the handset might offer up to 128 GB of internal storage.
