MediaTek launches Helio G70 and Helio G70T gaming chips

Lately, we have seen that MediaTek has focused itself on giving a breathtaking competing to Qualcomm. Especially in the midrange smartphone market, this competition is more intensified between the two.

Previously, MediaTek launched MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. Xiaomi’s premium smartphone Redmi Note 8 Pro was the first device that got powered by MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. Now, MediaTek has announced the Helio G70 and Helio G70T chipsets. They also stated that these two chipsets are for budget gaming smartphones.

MediaTek has not yet spoken a word about the key specifications of Helio G70T chipset so far but it has discussed about Helio G70 quite frankly. It should be noted that even the official website of MediaTek shares no information regarding the Helio G70T chipset.

MediaTek said that Helio G70 chipset is especially aimed at mobile gamers and it brings game-centric features with it. The chipset comes powered by MediaTek HyperEngine Game Technology which is promises to gaming experience better on smartphones using the MediaTek Helio G70 SoC. Other key features include HyperEngine, which is the processor that not only takes care of the battery life by improving power efficiency but also handles CPU and GPU resource allocation more intelligently while gaming.

Helio G70 chipset is an octa-core chipset consisting of four high-performance Cortex A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and four high-efficiency Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The Mali G52 GPU handles the graphics department.

The chipset supports HEVC/H.265 encoding and decoding, and VP9 decoding. As far as the camera is concerned, the chipset supports up to 48 MP single camera or dual 16 MP camera setups.
