Windows Terminal was launched last year and it was promoted by the company as “a new, modern, fast, efficient, powerful, and productive terminal application.” This Windows Terminal app can be used to access the Windows Command Prompt, PowerShell, and Windows Subsystem for Linux.

When Microsoft introduced this app, it was welcomed by different circles because throughout the years we have not seen any change on the decades-old Command Prompt. Apart from including multiple tabs, the company has also incorporated GPU accelerated text rendering, configuration options, custom themes, and custom styles.

The Verge reported that Microsoft is trying their best to improve their Windows Terminal and the upcoming update has a hint of nostalgia over it. According to The Verge, once the new version of Windows Terminal has been rolled, it will allow users to view its output with CRT effects.

This upcoming update has other capabilities also. For example, from now on, users will be able to resize tabs and search through tabs to locate command inputs and outputs. Microsoft might launch Windows Terminal v1.0 by April this year.
