Today, before the CES 2020 event, Samsung introduced a new line up of curved Odyssey gaming monitors. Samsung said that this is a monitor exclusively designed for hardcore gamers. The gaming monitor comes with curved displays and industry-leading performance specifications.
Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said “The new Odyssey portfolio proves that Samsung is continuing to drive innovation with industry-leading technology and design that allow gamers significantly better performances. Samsung’s new curved gaming monitor line-up has been completely redesigned to give gamers an entirely new and immersive experience.”
The G9 Odyssey gaming monitor comes with a display size of 49 inches whereas the G7 Odyssey gaming monitor comes with a display of 27 inches and 32 inches. Both the Odyssey gaming monitors are completely redesigned and they are the first ever monitors to come with 1000R curvature QLED displays.
Both the Odyssey monitors earned performance certification from TÜV Rheinland, a leading international certification organization. TÜV Rheinland has awarded Samsung for not only its high performing 1000R curved display but also for the Eye Comfort.
Samsung’s gaming monitors have a response time of 1 millisecond and a RapidCurve refresh rate of 240Hz. Apart from, this, these gaming monitors come with NVIDIA G-SYNC® Compatibility and Adaptive Sync support on DP1.4.
Immersion and speed are critical as gaming is more competitive than ever. The new monitors’ gaming-focused, technical innovations take gamers’ needs for speed, responsiveness, and minimal distractions into account, equipping them with the best gaming experience possible.
Samsung claims that G9 is the world’s first Dual Quad High Definition monitor with a 5120 × 1440 pixel resolution, 32:9 aspect ratio, and 1000 cd/m2 peak brightness. It comes with Quantum dot technology which is combined with an HDR1000 VA panel. The design includes a lighting glowing rear core that includes as many as 52 colors and 5 lighting effects.
On the other hand, G7 is a Quad High Definition monitor with 2560 × 1440 pixel resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 600 cd/m2 peak brightness. It is also powered by Quantum dot technology which is combined with an HDR600 VA panel. With G7’s QLED screen, Quantum dot technology provides an exceptionally wide range of accurate color reproductions.
G7 has been redesigned with a color-changing lighting core that remains either static or dim while gameplay.
