Yesterday evening, Senior Engineer of Xiaomi Redmi, Zhong Guilin answered a few questions about the 120 Hz flow screen of Redmi K30 mobile phones, and some other features of the handset.
Zhong Guilin said that high frame rates will increase some power consumption so a handful of other optimizations in technical directions were made on other fields. When someone is reading some content without moving, the system will automatically reduce the frame rate to save power.
According to a report, most users turn on the high frame rate and see that their battery life is reduced by about 10%.
One of the participants of the question-answer session asked if there is a bug in 120, will fall back to 60 hoping to optimize it. The official confirmed that there will be no such bugs as all such bugs are already fixed. He also said to stay tuned for the next MIUI update which will fix more bugs.
Some participants asked whether there can be further optimizations at the software and system levels and they were told that it has been doing special optimizations.
