According to the Mac Rumors report, we now have the Geekbench scores of Apple Mac Pro 2019. The Geekbench scores of some Apple Mac Pro 2019 devices offer us a general understanding of the devices in terms of their performance against other Apple machines.
The published scores indicate that the 8 core, 12 core, and 16 core Apple Mac Pro 2019 processors provide similar to that of the iMac Pro 2017 models.
The base Mac Pro 2019 model is the model with 8 core Xeon W chips. In single-core, it scored 1008 and in multi-core it scored 7606. Statistically, it is beaten out by the 8 core iMac Pro 2017 model. The 2017 model scored 1076 in single-core and 8120 in and multi-core.
The 12-core Mac Pro earned a single-core score of 1090 and a multi-core score of 11599, while the 16-core machine earned a single-core score of 1104 and a multi-core score of 14285.
On the other hand, the 12 core Mac Pro 2019 model scored 1090 in single-core and 11599 in multi-core while the 16 core Mac Pro 2019 model scored 1104 in single-core and 14285 in multi-core.
The 16 core Mac Pro 2019 model wins over the 18 core iMac Pro 2017 model in both multi-core and single-core scores. However, it should be noted that there is not a big difference in score between the two.
It is seen that in terms of single-core performance, the Mac Pro 2019 models perform in general but in terms of multi-core performance, the 12 core and 16 core models perform satisfactorily.
To be honest, though the performance level of the base and mid-range models is quite similar to that of the iMac Pro 2017 models, the scalability of the Mac Pro cannot be ignored.
