At today’s Game Awards, Microsoft officially announced the next generation of Xbox. It is named as Xbox Series X. It comes in a cube shape and looks more like a PC than its previous generation. The company also revealed that Xbox Series X will be released during the holiday of 2020.
An official said that the Xbox “X series” console will be Microsoft’s fastest and most powerful game console, and it will set a new standard for performance, speed, and compatibility.
Its industrial design provides four times with the processing power of the Xbox One X in the quietest and most efficient way, and this console supports vertical and horizontal placement.
It is reported that the Xbox Series X will be equipped with a custom CPU based on AMD Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture. Microsoft also used an SSD on the Xbox Series X, which is expected to speed up game loading. The Xbox Series X will also support 8K games, with frame rates up to 120 fps, ray tracing, and variable refresh rates.
Though Microsoft did not respond to the company’s plans to launch two next-generation consoles, the naming of the Xbox X Series does imply that there will more than one console. According to foreign media, Microsoft is planning to launch two mainframes for the X series, one of which is lower in price and weaker in functioning capabilities than the other high end one.
Phil Spencer, Chief of Xbox division said: “It’s improved in size and shape to fit more people, and it also has a new share button to simplify screenshots and game recording.”
He explained that Microsoft Xbox Series X also supports Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Dynamic Delay Input (DLI) which will “make the Xbox Series X the fastest responsive host ever” and this Xbox is “for the cloud Designed for the future, which will combine hardware and software to” bring great games to consoles and beyond as easily as possible. ”
