Apple’s new Pro Display XDR starts from 39,999 yuan. It comes with many features and high-end specifications but unfortunately, it lacks a webcam for video calls. This also gives room for accessory manufacturers to play.
Logitech has now launched a 4K Pro magnetic webcam specially created for XDR to fill up the gap on the spec sheet of the Apple display. The camera comes with a price tag of 1,598 yuan and is designed for Apple’s latest professional display allowing users to communicate, collaborate and record in extremely clear 4K Ultra HD resolution.
Advanced HDR technology ensures sharp, vivid colours, while RightLight 3 technology automatically adjusts the camera in low-light and direct sunlight environments. The sturdy magnetic bracket can be easily fixed and remains stable even when tilted up or down.
It attaches magnetically to the top bezel of the Apple monitor and then can be tilted up and down depending on where you’re sitting in relation to its 32 inches panel. It plugs in via USB C ports. Logitech has integrated two cables: one 3.5 inches long, and a 6 inches long cable.
As far as technology is concerned, the Logitech 4K Pro magnetic webcam supports up to 4K video streaming and has two integrated microphones that support noise cancellation. The entire product is treated with Apple-style anodized aluminium to match desktop and professional displays. Alternatively, it can be connected directly to a Mac Pro or 16 inches MacBook Pro as well by using a data cable.
Frankly, 1,598 yuan is not a cheap webcam solution but in general, Apple prices its accessories expensively so considering that it is a good deal. For example, some accessories of Pro Display XDR like the Pro Stand is priced at the rate of 7,799 yuan, the VESA stand converter is priced at the rate of 1,599 yuan. This product is now available for purchase at the Apple Store for just $200.
