AMD launches Pro W5700X graphics card for Apple Mac Pro

According to VideoCardz reports, AMD has launched a new Radeon Pro W5700X GPU which is specially designed for Apple Mac Pro. AMD said that the Radeon Pro W5700X GPU is designed to help Mac Pro users easily complete all types of professional visual content creation.

According to the company, this graphics card uses AMD RDNA architecture to provide workstation-class performance, suitable for rendering, 8K video playback, video editing, and compute-intensive tasks.

Unlike the recently announced Radeon Pro W5700, Radeon Pro W5700X flaunts full Navi 10 which means it is equipped with 40 Compute Units (CUs) that equals a total of 2560 Stream Processors (SPs).

As of now, AMD has not yet listed the complete specification list of the graphics card but the chipmaker said that it delivers up to 9.5 TFLOPs of single-precision (FP32) floating-point performance.

AMD calculates the theoretical performance using the boost clock speed value. The Radeon Pro W5700X runs with a maximum boost clock of 1855 MHz.

Besides Navi 10 silicon, the Radeon Pro W5700X also flaunts a very substantial memory upgrade. The vanilla Radeon Pro W5700 was restricted to 8 GB of GDDR6 memory but this new “X” variant can possess up to 16 GB of GDDR6 memory.
