PUBG Mobile will receive 90fps and true 10-bit HDR supports soon

At the ongoing Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 in Hawaii, tech giant Qualcomm has announced two of its next-generation flagship. Snapdragon 865, one of the new SoC from the company comes with 5G support, 200 MP cameras, and 144Hz displays and has the potential to deliver improved performance.

Apart from this, it also features some key functionality that promises to improve the gaming experience, especially for PUBG Mobile players.

During the second day of the Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm revealed that PUBG Mobile will get 10-bit HDR and a 90fps mode supports. According to reports, the performance of the Snapdragon 865 is sufficient to achieve 90fps in games, allowing users to take full advantage of smartphones equipped with high refresh rate screens.

Qualcomm revealed that Snapdragon 865 supports the 144Hz display refresh rate on mobile terminals and provides higher-quality display and visual fidelity for mobile HDR games. Game Color Plus Multi-detail, higher colour saturation, and local tone mapping also improve the overall gaming experience.

The visual effects of the game will be further enhanced to support true 10 bit HDR, which will exceed the current HDR mode of “PUBG Mobile”. At present, the HDR mode in the game settings does not provide significant visual quality improvement. It is expected that after the 10-bit HDR blessing, the game screen will have a higher dynamic range.

Currently, the Snapdragon Game Performance Engine supports game-oriented millisecond optimization. The new Adreno 650 GPU supports new hardware embedding features, such as Adreno HDR Fast Blend which can optimize up to 2x in some operations.
