Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme tablet launched with a 1000 nits display

According to AnandTech’s report, Dell introduced a new high end 12 inches Latitude Extreme 7220 tablet. It is a three proof tablet that works reliably in harsh environments.

As far as display is concerned, the screen is of 11.6 inches and it comes with a resolution of 1080 pixels. We have already mentioned that brightness can reach 1000 nits maximum. The screen brightness can be regulated from the front panel of the tablet. The dedicated Windows button got removed in this model.

In terms of configuration, the new Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme tablet comes with upgraded quad-core Intel Core 8th generation CPU and the screen reached 1000 nits. According to reports, Dell was looking forward to providing a sturdy tablet by 2015 and now the Latitude 7220 is already the third generation of three proof tablet.

The Latitude 7220 is MIL-STD-810G certified. It has a 24 mm thick housing to withstand extreme levels of temperatures (from -29 ° C to 63 ° C), extreme dust level, extreme sand, extreme humidity, extreme wind, extreme rain, extreme vibration, and extreme physical shock. The tablet is also MIL-STD-461F certified which means the Latitude 7220 RE is designed to withstand electromagnetic interference.

Because of the significant chassis bulk required to meet the durability requirements for a ruggedized device, this Dell model is neither small nor light. It weighs in 1.33 kilograms. In fact, the new model is 60 grams heavier than the previous generation Dell tablet, Dell Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme.

Latitude 7220 is powered by an 8th generation quad-core Intel processor. You can choose your processor between i3-8145U to i7-8665U. Similarly, you can also choose the RAM of the device between 8 GB and 16 GB LPDDR3-2133 RAM. There is also an option of a PCIe 3.0 x4-based Class 35 or Class 40 M.2 SSD with capacities ranging from 128 GB to 2 TB.
