Today, Xiaomi unveiled Mi Watch alongside Mi CC9 Pro and Mi TV 5 series at an event in Beijing. Mi Watch comes with a 1.78 inches AMOLED display, a resolution of 368 x 448 pixels with 326 PPI and looks very similar to that of Apple Watch.
According to the company, Mi Watch will feature an aluminum alloy frame with a matte finish and it will come with a 44 mm dial. Other features include a ceramic back cover, curved Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front, and a rubber strap.
Xiaomi revealed that there will also be a premium variant of the Mi Watch. The premium variant will come with stainless steel strap, sapphire glass protection, and a stainless steel frame.
Mi Watch comes with a price tag of 1299 Yuan (approximately INR 13,000) while the premium variant is tagged with a price tag of 1999 Yuan (approximately INR 20,000). Xiaomi Mi Watch will go on sale from 11th November in China. However, the company has kept silent so far about the launch and availability of Mi Watch outside China. This smartwatch will come in two variants in terms of color: Silver and Black.
Mi Watch is going to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC and the smartwatch is going to support dual SIM cellular connectivity via eSIM. Other connectivity options integrated into the smartwatch are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The device is backed up by a 570 mAh battery which according to the company has the potential to last up to 36 hours with a single full charge.
Xiaomi has also used a special version of its MIUI OS, “MIUI for Watch” built exclusively for smartwatches. It includes components from Google Wear OS. Noteworthy features of the OS include an app store, a watch face market, custom watch face support, voice assistant, and dark mode.
