Today, Xiaomi launched Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro earlier today as a part of the company’s product presentation in Beijing. The smart TVs will go on sale in China from 11th November onwards. As of now, both smart TVs are available for pre-booking. However, the company kept silent about the launch of smart TVs outside China.
Both are 4K display smart televisions and they come in 3 size variants: 55 inches, 65 inches, and 75 inches. Both Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro are powered by Amlogic T972 SoC.
Meanwhile, Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro shares a couple of similar features and the major differences between the two models is the lack of Quantum Dot screen, MEMC motion smoothening technology and HDR 10+ on the non-Pro variant.
Common features include Amlogic T972 SoC, PatchWall user interface, 8K video playback support, h Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity, 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, AV inputs, Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, 4 microphones, 2 8W four-unit speakers, and Xiaomi voice assistant support. Mi TV 5 comes with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage while the Pro variant comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

As far as design is concerned, both Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro sport an aluminum frame and comes with a screwless design. Both TVs are 5.9 mm thick and the bezels are 47.1 % thinner than the Mi TV 4 series. The bezel size of the new TV series is 1.8 mm.
Mi TV 5 Pro features a 4K OLED Quantum Dot display with a resolution of 3840 x 2,160 pixels. It can achieve up to 108 % NTSC color gamut and other display specifications include HDR10+ support and MEMC technology. On the other hand, Mi TV 5 features a 4K display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels that can achieve up to 85 % NTSC color gamut. The smart television does not include MEMC technology or comes with HDR10+ support.
Talking about the price, Mi TV 5 Pro will come with a price tag of CNY 3699 (approximately INR 37,200) for the 55 inches model, CNY 4999 (approximately INR 50,300) for the 65 inches model and CNY 9999 (approximately INR 1,00,500) for the 75 inches model.
On the other hand, Mi TV 5 will come with a price tag of CNY 2999 (approximately INR 30,200) for the 55 inches model, CNY 3999 (approximately INR 40,200) for the 65 inches model and CNY 7999 (approximately INR 80,400) for the 75 inches model.
