DJI, one of the widely renowned companies in the drone industry might have recently started focusing its efforts towards slimming down the drones. Mavic Mini is the latest entrant in this journey. Interestingly, this has been rumored for quite a while.
DJI is promoting its latest drone, Mavic Mini as the ”lightest and smallest drone” that DJI has ever built. DJI is striving to make drones more accessible to the masses with this launch. The drone weighs in at just 249 grams which means that the drone is more or less equivalent in terms of weight with most smartphones these days that come with bigger batteries.
With this model, DJI is looking forward to increasing its consumer base because they are marketing the drone by the tagline: “made it possible for more people to own this thing”. It should be noted that buyers would no longer need to go through the hassle of registering the drone and waste tons of paperwork.
Experts considered that Mavic Mini will be a 4K drone but the company revealed that video recording is capped at 2.7K Quad HD at 30 fps. Even though you don’t even have a 60 fps recording option, this is better than the Mavic Spark which only offered 1080p video recording.
DJI Mavic Mini offers a flight time of up to 30 minutes with a range of up to 4kms which is pretty decent for such a tiny drone.
The camera sensor is mounted inside a three-axis gimbal that will help users to record super stable videos. GPS receivers and visual sensors are also present but the obstacle avoidance feature has been removed. Mavic Mini will be easy to fly and it can be easily controlled with a remote controller or a DJI Fly app.
DJI Mavic Mini will come in two variants. The base package is priced $ 399 while the Fly More Combo package will cost around $499. Do share your thoughts on DJI Mavic Mini in the comment section below!
