    Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro to use the 96W USB-C Power Adapter


    Last year, Apple hosted an event on 30th October and it is expected to hold an event this year. While Apple has not discussed anything about the October event, yet there are lots of rumors already. Lots of leaks suggest new Apple Tag, 16-inch MacBook Pro 2019, new iPad Pro, Mac Pro 2019 and other Mac updates.

    It is expected, Apple will launch its 16-inch MacBook Pro with similar specs like the traditional 15-inch MacBook Pro. It is rumored that it will sports a larger display with a resolution of 3072×1920 pixels with smaller bezel size. The 16-inch laptop will be powered by custom Intel 10nm Ice Lake processor.

    Today another leak suggests, Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to equipped with a 96W USB PD charger. The Weibo post also mentioned the size of the 96W PD Charge will be the same as the existing 15-inch MacBook Pro 87W USB-C power adapter. Also, the new 96W USB-C Charger will support four different outputs – 5.2V 3A, 9V 3A, 15V 3A, 20.5V 4.3A and unknown, 12V.

    A few days back, the company confirmed that it’s bringing Pro Display XDR to MacBook lineup that supports 96W output. So the new leak reconfirms that 16-inch MacBook Pro will come with a 96W USB-C power adapter.

    To add up more, another photo shared by Chongdiantou on the same Weibo post confirms the 96W power adaptor. The shared image revels the model name of the adapter and it looks similar to Apple’s charger. The adapter comes with a model name of A2166 and it mentioned “96W USB-C Power Adapter, Designed by Apple in California”.

    Other rumors suggest the 16-inch MacBook will feature a scissor switch keys that offer better reliability than the existing keyboard.  Apart from this, we don’t have any other details regarding eh 16-inch MacBook to share.

    An Apple event in October 2019 is likely to take place and we expect Apple to unveiled the 16-inch MacBook Pro 2019 alongside other new products. We should hear more details regarding the product in the coming days.
