    Microsoft Surface Earbuds announced, priced at $249


    Finally, Microsoft disclosed Surface Earbuds which has been rumored several times earlier this year. Surface Earbuds feature touch sensors on each earbud that helps to navigate music and answer calls. There are two mics embedded in each bud. The earbuds offer a battery life of 24 hours when accompanied by a carrying case.

    It can take advantage of Microsoft’s cloud capabilities and translate over 60 languages in real-time. During a presentation, the earbuds can also integrate with Office 365 for real-time voice captioning.

    Robin Seiler, The Device Executive of Microsoft said: “How do you take earbuds and make them more productive? You add Office.”

    The cross-platform supportive earbuds will be launched by the end of this year and they will come with a price tag of $249. Just to let you know, last week only, Amazon released its own Alexa voice technology-powered wireless earbud called Echo Buds and priced it $129.99.

    Microsoft’s Robin Seiler commented on the unique design of the earbuds: “We looked at many options for ergonomics and weight. We created a simple design that balances against two points in your ear, creating all day comfort and stability.”

    Surface Earbuds come with cool features such as background noise cancellation and audio enhancement. The company claimed that Surface Earbuds offers eight hours of continuous playback on a full charge and the case contains enough for two full refills.

    The wireless earbuds come with a 13.6mm driver with a frequency response of 20 –20 kHz, dual microphones per earbud. Also, it supports SBC and aptX audio codecs and it is certified with IPX4 ratings.

    Robin Seiler said: “On Android, with a few simple taps, you can open Spotify, and it will start to play the right music for you in that moment. There’s no screen required.”

    Now, Surface Earbuds join with Surface Headphones in Microsoft’s flagship audio products. As mentioned, Microsoft Surface Earbuds is priced at US$ 249. However, Microsoft has not announced any sequel to its Surface Headphone in the event.
