Yesterday, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi launched a handful of products back to back. The list of releases includes MIUI 11, Mi MIX Alpha, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi TV Pro 8K, Xiaomi Air 2 TWS earphones, Mi 50W Power Bank 3 and new Vertical 30W wireless charger. The Chinese tech giant also live-streamed the event on YouTube.
As reported, the next-generation custom skin of Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 is here. Key features of the MIUI 11 update include dynamic font scaling and dynamic sound effects. It will be rolled out from 27th September onwards and it will be rolled out in 17 different devices. Initially, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7, Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, and Mi CC9 will get MIUI 11 update.
The new update comes preloaded with two new suites of office apps and they are known as Mi Work and Mi Go. Mi Work suite offers cross-platform file sharing and large document transfer between multiple devices, smart screencast, and wireless printing while Mi Go suite comes with a smart travel assistant and a new battery saving mode.
In addition, the new update is equipped with a document viewer, a new reminder feature, an upgraded kids mode, and screen time manager. According to Xiaomi, Mi 9, Mi Mix 3, Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 will get the MIUI 11 update by the middle of October 2019.
Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha 5G
Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha has a screen-to-body ratio of 180.9 percent and it is the industry’s first smartphone to come with 100% screen to body ratio. The handset will come with Vivo NEX 3 which suggests it will offer a seamless and immersive experience to its users.
The handset comes with a premium design and is made of materials like Titanium, Silica, and Aluminium. This new-age smartphone sports a 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX camera and officially, this will be the first smartphone ever to sport a 108 MP camera.
According to Xiaomi, “To accommodate the nearly all-screen offering, Mi MIX Alpha has minimal bezels on the top and bottom, and ditches the physical side buttons altogether,”.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus and the device supports reverse charging. It has 512GB internal storage, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 5G support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

Xiaomi Mi TV Pro 8K
We already reported about the arrival of Mi TV Pro with 8K support and finally, it’s official. Mi TV Pro 8K comes in three size variants: 43 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches. The price of the device starts from 1499 Yuan. All the three variants sport a bezel-less design so they are called fullscreen TV. The frame of the smart TV is made of aluminum unibody while the back panel is made of 3D carbon Fiber.
This Mi Pro TV is capable of streaming 8K video content. At the launch, officials said that the Chinese tech giant has collaborated with Amlogic to develop Amlogic T972 which is manufactured with the latest 12mn technology.
The Xiaomi Mi Pro TVs are powered by 2 GB RAM and they also come with an internal storage of 32 GB. Apart from 8K content, the televisions also support 4K content. Other key specifications of this TV series include Patchwall, Dolby Audio, and DTS HD.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G
As the name suggests, it is a 5G device. This is Xiaomi’s second 5G device till date; the first one was Mi MIX 3. Xiaomi Mi 9 5G comes with 90% screen to body ratio. As far as display is concerned, it carried a 6.39 inches AMOLED display. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus. Other notable features include 30W fast charging support, waterdrop notch, triple rear cameras, and a 20 MP secondary camera.
As mentioned above, Xiaomi has also launched MIUI 11 in this event and Mi 9 5G is the first ones to get it. However, initially, the handset will launch with MIUI 10.4.1 and Android 9 Pie. The handset is backed up by a strong 4000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi Air 2 TWS Bluetooth Earphones
Xiaomi Air2 TWS earphones support LHDC Bluetooth decoding that offers low latency and high-definition audio codec. The Xiaomi Air 2 True Wireless Bluetooth headset features XiaoAI smart assistant that makes the connectivity much easier than before.
The earphone uses a 14.2 mm composite diaphragm moving coil unit and promises a deep bass and treble and comes with dual noise reduction microphone. Xiaomi Air2 TWS Bluetooth earphones will cost around 399 yuan (~$58) price tag and will be available for sale from September 27 in China.
Xiaomi 30W Vertical Wireless charger
The Xiaomi 30W vertical wireless charger features a new air duct design that will reduce the head temperature directly. The company claims the new vertical design portable charger is safe and higher efficiency.
The wireless fast charger supports Qi charging standard and has a maximum power rating of 30W. The Xiaomi 30W vertical air-cooled wireless charger priced at 199 yuan and there are no information about the availability.
Mi PowerBank 3 50W
The newly launched Mi Power bank 3 support for 50W fast charging and it packs a 20000mAh capacity battery. The power bank can charge three devices simultaneously, and it comes with two USB-A ports and a USB-C port. Also, a dedicated USB-C port for charging the power bank. Mi Power Bank 3 50W priced at 299 yuan (~$42) and still no information about the availability.
