Amazon has announced a new update, which allows users to interact with Alexa in regional Hindi language. Amazon bringing this feature to all Echo family that includes Echo Spot, Echo Plus, Echo Show 5, Echo Dot, and the Echo Show. With this new update, Amazon Alexa can now talk & understand Hindi & Hinglish.
Puneesh Kumar, from Amazon India said, “In India pronunciation, diction, and accents in Hindi is different across the country even if the language being spoken is the same. Conversations in Hinglish are common. With today’s launch, you will notice that Alexa has become more local. Alexa will not only understand and respond in Hindi or Hinglish but, is also armed with a lot of knowledge about topics that interest users in the country ranging from local information to music, and from Bollywood to cricket.”
So to enable the Hindi Language for Alexa, users need to change the device language. To do that, navigate to Alexa App >> Settings >> Device Settings and choose the language and device.
To make it simple, users can start with, “Alexa, help me set up Hindi.” or access the settings option by swiping down from the top of the screen.
With this new Hindi support interactions, users can use these commands like, “Bollywood ke latest gane sunao”, “cricket score batao”, “sher ki aawaaz sunao”, or “Alexa, apne baare mei batao”. Yeah, Alexa can now understand.
In addition, Alexa Hindi feature will be available for a selected smart speaker like Bose, Motorola, MyBox, Boat, Portronics, Sony, iBall and others.
