Back in March, it was reported that Microsoft continued development of Your Phone application. It was rumored that Microsoft is also working on a code that will introduce Android screen mirroring.
At that time, renowned hacker Albacore revealed that the Microsoft has planned that with Your Phone, they will allow users to filter notifications by an application, browse contact list from the connected smartphone and make phone calls. Users will be able to make a phone call either directly from the desktop or by using a dial pad.
Along with this calling capability, the app will also be able to monitor your handset’s battery level. This means routed from your Android phone, Your Phone app for Windows 10 will be able to make and receive phone calls on your desktop. Albacore also identified that the screen mirroring feature has been there for quite a number of Android devices already and they are working fine.
It should be noted that in terms of improvements, these are big but for people who use Screenovate’s Dell Mobile Connect app, this will still fall short in terms of other features. Microsoft is a big player so this might just be the start and they might catch up and surpass that 3rd party client sooner than expected.
Recently, another renowned leaker, Ajith has uncovered the feature in more detail on Twitter. Moreover, he covered a more recent build version of the application than his predecessor. Ajith is known in the tech world for his Windows leaks. This time, Ajith has also posted a screenshot which displays the app menu. The app menu will feature a traditional keypad and a “Calls” button will be added to tit. You will be allowed to browse through your contact and select the number you want to call. However, it is still unclear when the feature will finally arrive.
