Last year, Xiaomi launched its first True Wireless Stereo earphones, the Xiaomi AirDots and then in January this year, the tech giant followed it up with the Xiaomi Air Bluetooth Earphone (Mi True Wireless Earphones or AirDots Pro).
A recent leak suggests that a successor to the Xiaomi Air is now set to launch. The said leak not only leaked this information but also came with images of its retail box and its name. The successor of Xiaomi Air is named as Xiaomi Air 2 or Mi AirDots Pro 2.
The retail box is shown on the desk of an employee so the leaked image is a photo that is possibly taken at a Xiaomi office. A close-up view suggests that Xiaomi has altered the design a little bit that its predecessor. As far as the colour is concerned, the earbuds still come in white and the case also looks similar to the previous generation but the part that goes into the ears has been redesigned.
Back in July, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 (TWSEJ02JY) was spotted on Bluetooth SIG website and it seems that Xiaomi Air 2 is going to be the Chinese version of it. As far as the Bluetooth SIG website July leak is concerned, it detailed that the earphones are going to come with Bluetooth 5.0 connection which indicates not only an improved Bluetooth range and connectivity but also a longer battery life.
Frankly, we do not have any other information about Xiaomi Air 2 Bluetooth Earphones whose images got leaked but experts are considering that it will keep the touch controls of its predecessor along with better noise cancellation.
If the touch control is kept as it is then by touching the earbuds you will be able to answer calls, resume or pause the music you are listening to, and activate the AI assistant.
It is expected that Xiaomi may release the Air 2 Pro Bluetooth Earphones in September while launching Mi 9 5G and Mi MIX 4.
