Flipkart launches its new video streaming platform called Flipkart Videos and started rolling out the service for Android users via Flipkart shopping App. The company collaborated with several media brands that include Viu, Dice Media, TVF, Voot, Arre and more.

Flipkart Videos was announced last week focused on streaming Indian entertainment programs, movies and TV shows. As of now, Flipkart Videos offer only Hindi-language contents. The new service is not offering any original content like Netflix and Amazon Prime videos. It is rumored that Flipkart will launch a dedicated streaming app in the future.

The company claims “Our video content offering is focused on three primary aspects, keeping in mind our understanding of the market: free, curated and personalised.

Flipkart will suggest videos for users based on their interest. Some of the Bollywood movies are streaming via Viacom’s Voot. The new Flipkart Videos works just like Youtube so here they included various genres like Action, Adventure, Drama, Romance and more. So far no Hollywood movies listed on this platform. Flipkart also mentioned “We believe that our customers shouldn’t pay extra for premium content

Interesting the Flipkart Videos is not charging its users for using its service. Since its a free streaming service, lots of users will start using it. Also, the service is only available for Android users, there are no talks about the iOS platform.
