According to an anonymous forum in US, 4Chan, Sony will release Sony PlayStation 5 in its 21st February conference of 2020. The anonymous person also leaked an email from the senior marketing manager of Sony PlayStation which reveals that companies like Activision, Ubisoft and EA will be invited at Sony’s PlayStation conference.
Along with the new PlayStation model, Sony will also launch a handful of first-party games including “Ghosts of Tsushima” and “The Last of Us 2”. It should be noted that Ghosts of Tsushima was announced during the time of the launch of Sony PlayStation 4, back in 2017 and it had been delayed till now. On the other hand, The Last of Us 2 will be a complete PlayStation 5 exclusive. Last of Us 1 was released back in 2013!
As per reports, Sony PS5 game console will sport a 3rd generation custom AMD Ryzen custom CPU. This CPU is said to be powered by 7 nano Zen 2 microarchitecture 8 cores. On the other hand, in terms of graphics unit, this PlayStation model will hold a custom Radeon Navi core version of the GPU which will support ray tracing, 4K@120Hz games and 8K output.
Initially, the email first surfaced on 4Chan and then on NeoGaf. Both the websites cited an anonymous insider as the source of the leak.
However, it should be noted that the leaked email does not disclose the revelation of Sony PS5 at the event. Sony is yet to confirm or verify the General Meeting date of 2020. Certainly, the tech giant will be revealing about the new PS5 model several months before its launch in order to create the hype.
According to experts, February sounds fairly plausible. It will be interesting to see what Sony has up its sleeve for the 2020 event. Experts are believing a strong launch lineup for the event as we edge slowly towards 2020.
