Since May, there are lots of talk about the upcoming snapdragon processor and again the Snapdragon 865 processor allegedly listed on Geekbench. This confirms that the Qualcomm is working on a new mobile SoC and it to be called the Snapdragon 865.
The listing shows a new Qualcomm chipset with a codename ‘Kona’ runs on a prototype Android 10 device that has 6 gigabytes of RAM. It also reveals a score of 4160 points for a single-core while the multi-core peaks to 12946. When compared to its successor Snapdragon 855 & 855 Plus, the score seems to be an improvement which is around 3600 in the single-core and 11000 for multi-core tests. Also, it beat the Snapdragon 855 with the base clock speed of 1.8Ghz.
In addition, the multi-core test of Snapdragon 865 seems to be well improved and better than the Apple A12 Bionic, Exynos 9825 and SD 855 Plus. On the same time, Apple might be working on A12 chipset and it should be launched next month with 2019 iPhone models.
The Snapdragon 865 also supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS storage. Surely, some flagship device going to be powered with this flagship processor and we expect it might Samsung’s Galaxy S11 lineup. As per some reports, the Snapdragon 865 will come in two versions codenamed – ‘Kona’ and ‘Huracan’. Also, they might have integrated X55 5G modem.
Apart from this, we don’t have any information. Every December, Qualcomm usually release and host the Qualcomm Tech Summit, so we expect they will make an official announcement about the chip.
