Ahead of the Galaxy Unpack event, Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 9825 SoC and it claimed to be the Samsung’s first 7nm EUV mobile processor. The upcoming Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ will be powered by this new Exynos 9825 processor. It promises up to 20-30% higher transistor performances by consuming less power.
The Exynos 9825 is configured with 2x Samsung’s custom cores, paired with 2x Cortex-A75 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores. Alongside, the GPU is an ARM Mali-G76 with 12 clusters similar to predecessor Exynos 9820 architecture. It also gets an integrated NPU for handling AI-powered photography. It supports a multi-camera setup such as telephoto, wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and 3D depth sensors. The new SoC also supports 8K 30fps or 4K UHD 150fps and 10-bit HEVC (h.265) encoding and decoding. It also supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.0/UFS 2.1 storage.
For connectivity, the chipset comes with an integrated 4G LTE Advanced Pro modem that can offer up to 2Gbps and 316Mbps upload speeds. In addition, the 7nm EUV chipset can be paired with Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5100 for 5G connectivity. It also has a physically inclinable function which manages and stores your personal data.
The Korean manufacturer has improved a lot in terms of performance and power efficiency and It also the first to use EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography). The company has not disclosed the clock speeds or any performance figures of this SoC. The new processor is expected to debut in Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 series.
