Huawei has made a rare announcement in the Indian markets for its mid-range smartphone lineup. This is in the Huawei Y lineup and the company has launched its Huawei Y9 Prime. One of the headlining features of this mid-range smartphone from Huawei is that it comes with a pop-up selfie camera.

While we do know that most of the flagship smartphones now come with some sort of a way to remove the notch, the notch is still seen on mid-range phones. However, this is one of the rare instances when a mid-range smartphone does not come with a notch.

Yes, you will not find a notch on the Huawei Y9 Prime as it comes with a pop-up selfie camera. Apart from that, the Huawei Y9 Prime also comes powered by a Kirin 710 octa-core processor. The pop-up selfie camera on this device is a 16MP one along with a 4000 mAh battery too.

On the back, you will see triple cameras on this device which is also rare for a mid-range smartphone. This triple-camera setup has a 16MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. However, the disappointing part is that the device only comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The display of Huawei Y9 Prime is a 6.59-inch full-screen FHD+ display which has a 91% screen-to-body ratio. Interestingly, the device only supports 10W fast charging which is slow for a device with 4000 mAh battery. Therefore, the charge time of this device is expected to be longer.

It runs on EMUI 9 which is based on the latest version of Android, Android 9.0 Pie. The device is launched in India at a price of Rs. 15,990. Also, it will be available from Amazon India starting at 12 noon on August 7. Amazon India has also announced some offers on purchase of this device which can be seen from here.
