Sony Electronics announced the updated version of RX100 camera named, RX100 VII. The new camera comes with a microphone jack, improved shooting modes and real-time autofocus and tracking. The updated 7th generation RX100 camera’s technical name is Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VII.
The Sony RX 100 VII gets a similar design of previous RX100 VI and comes with two main features – 1-inch 20.1MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and BIONZ X image processor. The camera comes with a 24-200mm zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8-4.5. The new camera can now shoot at 20fps with improved AF/AE tracking.
Sony also added a new Single Burst Shooting Drive Mode that allows you take seven action images to shoot at a frame rate of 30fps, 60fps or up to 90fps with a single shutter press. Once you have done, you can choose the best the picture from those seven images. As said, the camera has improved AF and AE tracking and now thee are 357 phase-detection AF points and 425 AF points. It also has real-time eye tracking and real-time detection which supports for both videos and photos.
The RX100 VII can record 4K videos with improved image stabilization, 960fps slow motion, Log and HLG for HDR capture, can shoot vertical videos. The camera comes with a pop-up electronic viewfinder, flip-up display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Sony targeted the vloggers, so the camera will be sold along with a Shooting Grip Kit and jacket case which includes a handheld grip, a microphone bracket and two batteries.
Talking about the availability and price, the Sony RX100 VII is priced at $1,200 (~ Rs. 82,851 in India) and will be available from next month. The Sony RX100 VII Shooting Grip Kit comes with a price tag of $1300 and will be available later in 2019 and the LCJ-RXK jacket case will cost around $85 and will be available from next month.
