Mysterious HMD Global device alleged to be the Nokia 6.2 passes BIS certification in India

Nokia has been relatively quiet for some time in the Indian markets. However, that is not because the company is not planning to launch new smartphones in India. Whatever might be the reason, we now have some exciting news for Nokia fans in India. Apparently, three new Nokia devices have visited the BIS certification site in India. Also, these devices have been certified by BIS too which means they are extremely close to being launched.

These devices are expected to be the Nokia 6.2 or Nokia 6 2019. However, there is also a device which is certified with a 2G connection expected to be a feature phone. On the BIS certification website, the mysterious Nokia device comes with model number Nokia TA-1203. There are high chances that this could be either the Nokia 6.2. Also, Nokia 6.2 has already been launched globally as Nokia X71 so the chances of this phone coming to India are very likely.

Nokia TA-1174 which might be a Nokia feature phone has also passed the BIS certification. This might be the Nokia 3310’s upgraded version or a different feature phone altogether. Also, we have seen reports of a Nokia feature phone running Android. However, that phone might still take some time to release in the markets.

Coming back to the Nokia smartphones, the company launched Nokia X71 in China a few months ago. This smartphone comes with an Infinity-O display and triple rear cameras. This might be the Nokia 6.2 which might launch soon in the country. Also, the smartphone has a 3500 mAh battery and Android 9.0 Pie running based on the Android One program.

Nokia 6.2 should be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor and come with 6GB RAM, same as Nokia X71. Also, this might be a rare smartphone in the market with a physical fingerprint scanner at its back. Because all the major OEMs have transitioned to in-display fingerprint scanners.
