Sony has launched a new camera in India which is named as RXO II. However, this is not just another camera in the market. This camera from Sony is claimed to be a premium compact one. Also, it is claimed to be the world’s smallest and lightest compact camera. This is also the latest edition in a Sony RXO lineup of premium compact cameras. The Sony RXO II weighs just 132 grams and it measures 59mm x 40.5mm x 35mm. This is even lighter than the smartphones we use which are all above the 150-gram mark in terms of weight.
However, the compactness of Sony RXO II does not mean it is not powerful. The camera comes with a 180-degree tiltable screen in a waterproof rated at IP8X, dustproof rated at IP6X, and shockproof from drops up to 2 meters, and crushproof up to 200kg force form-factor. This means that it is extremely sturdy for rugged use in tough conditions and is built for moto vloggers. As far as the image sensor is concerned, the Sony RXO II has a 15.3-megapixel Exmor RS CMOS sensor.
Along with that, you get a BIONZ X image processing engine for better colour reproduction. Also, the CMOS sensor on this camera ranges from ISO 80-12,800 which means that you can take excellent pictures even in low-light. The camera also features a fixed wide-angle Zeiss Tessar T 24mm lens with f/4.0 aperture that will help you in taking shots of the surrounding.
The best part about this camera is that it is launched in India and will be available from July 15. Also, the RXO II can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second too without pixel binning. Sony has included in-body electronic stabilization on this camera for steady shots while riding or walking or running. However, the Sony RXO II was launched globally at $700 which means that it is costlier in India as compared to outside.
The Sony RXO II camera has been priced at Rs 57,990. From July 15ht, the camera will be available to buy in all Sony Center and major electronics stores. For more details, kindly visit the official site.
